Binnur, In a lot of American cookbooks there are different abbreviations for tablespoon and teaspoon. Tablespoon can be "tbls" or "T". Teaspoon can be "tsp" or "t". And I was always taught that when measuring dry ingredients that they should be level full. That is why measuring cups and spoons came in different sizes. Unless there was a particular recipe that said "heaping tablespoon full". I love the site! Thanks!
Merhaba,
would it also be possible to add some frequently used temperatures in Fahrenheit and their conversion in Celcius?
Hollanda'dan cok tessekürler :)

Merhaba Meike,

Wow what a site!
Please help what weight is 1 cup in grammes for flour etc. Or should I measdure 250 ml in a cup and then use that level for any solids?
Many thanks for the great site
Steve from Akbuk
Hi Steve,
1 cup sugar = 250 gr
1 cup flour = ~180 gr.
Merhaba,
Bınnur - I need some help translating Turkish recıpes. When I try to read them, I often find measurements given for a çayı or suyu bardak. How much would a tea glass or water glass be in ounces or milliliters?
Çok teşekkür ederim. I enjoy your web site so much.
Annie
Hi Annie,
Please check Olculer section on Turkish site, here is the address;

Sevgilerimle,
Hi Binnur,
Yesterday while talking about recipies with a friend of mine in Turkey, she directed me to your nice site... I found the same problem with conversions as some of your other readers... Rather than trying to list a few conversions on your measurements page, you might consider a direct link to this sight... http://www.onlineconversion.com/
Hi Binnur,
I was wondering if you could help me. In one of your recipie you said 250ml of butter I was wondering if you explain if it is melted, if not how do you measure ml? it is in the UN KURABİYESİ recipie.
best regards
Feride
Hi Feride,
Butter should be in room temeperature in Un Kurabiyesi. All the packeges of butter measurment also given in ml. I am sure the butter you will use give all the measurments, such as, gr, ml, cup
250 ml = 250 gr = 1 cup
If you like you can use measurment cup for it:)
Take care,
