Berries with White Chocolate Sauce

Berries with White Chocolate Sauce
600 gr 4 field berry mix, frozen

3/4 cup pure white chocolate chips (6 ounce)
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp almond extract

1/4 cup almond, blanched, sliced

Pour some water in a small pan and heat it up over medium-low heat. Put the chocolate and heavy cream in a glass bowl. Put this bowl in the the pot with the boiling water. Stir occasionally. Melt the chocolate and cream mixture.

Leave the frozen berries out for 30-35 minutes at room temperature in a service plate. Pour the hot sauce over the berries. Sprinkle almonds on top. Serve immediately with a spoon.

I've cooked this Ina Garten recipe from her TV show a few times for my family, and we all loved it. I wanted to share with you after adding a bit of a Turkish touch with the almond extract and almond slices:)

Sugar Cookies

Sugar Cookies
3 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tbsp sunflower oil
1 egg
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup flour, sifted
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

1 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon

Mix the butter, sunflower oil, egg, sugar and vanilla using a mixer. Add the milk, flour, nutmeg, baking powder and salt. Mix again for a few minutes. Pour into large muffin cups. The dough makes 8 cookies.

Preheat the oven to 190 C (400 F) and bake for 15-16 minutes on the middle rack. While they're still warm, put them on the rack and spread the butter on top. Finally sprinkle some sugar and cinnamon.
